Depuis plus d'une décennie, les politiques migratoires et d'asile font l'objet d'un virage restrictif. Tant au niveau des parcours migratoires qu'au niveau des institutions chargées de les encadrer, ces mutations entrainent une série de contradictions et d'ambivalences qui appellent au développement de nouveaux regards analytiques permettant d'en faire sens. Dans ce contexte, le projet G3 « Gérer les migrations face aux défis identitaires et sécuritaires », réunissant des chercheurs et chercheuses de l'Université Libre de Bruxelles, de l'Université de Genève et de l'Université de Montréal, a pour objectif d'analyser la gestion du phénomène migratoire en dépassant les clivages traditionnels. Situées au cœur de villes qui vivent le phénomène migratoire avec acuité, ces trois universités partenaires sont particulièrement bien outillées pour apporter une contribution significative à l'étude des défis identitaires et sécuritaires soulevés par les migrations. Le présent numéro de la collection Sociograph collige une partie des présentations réalisées lors de la première journée d'étude du projet organisée à Bruxelles en décembre 2016. Regroupant juristes, anthropologues, sociologues, psychologues sociaux et politologues, ce volume cherche ainsi à apporter des éclairages croisés sur la problématique complexe des migrations contemporaines, à la fois dans leurs dimensions institutionnelles et individuelles.
