Abstract
Fine needle aspiration of a parotid mass in a 66 year old male showed spindle‐shaped cells interpreted as the myoepithelial component of a pleomorphic adenoma. Pathologic examination of the resection specimen showed, instead, a low‐grade myofibroblastic sarcoma. Review of the cytological material revealed features that should aid in the recognition of this entity.
