Abstract
La presente investigacion analiza el sector hortofruticola de Colombia, tomando como base la produccion de uchuva, ya que este es uno de los productos con mayor potencial de exportacion en el pais, no obstante, presenta varias falencias a nivel interno que le impiden aprovechar su potencial en los diferentes mercados internacionales. Para este analisis se tomo como referencia la exportacion de uchuva hacia Canada, debido a que es un buen mercado para este producto, los consumidores canadienses son fuertes demandantes de uchuva, sobretodo de origen colombiano. El desarrollo de este proyecto de investigacion se basa en el modelo de competitividad de Esser Klaus, especificamente el nivel micro y macro, ya que el analisis de estos permite conocer que esta pasando con el sector de la uchuva , asi mismo, permite identificar las oportunidades y falencias que se pueden encontrar a nivel interno y externo, en donde, a nivel interno(micro),se analiza la produccion de pequenos, medianos y grandes empresarios, productividad, innovacion, eficiencia, calidad; y en el nivel externo(macro), se analizan factores gubernamentales, como los subsidios que ofrece el gobierno a los productores, oportunidades de la firma del TLC entre Colombia y Canada, proyectos y programas de gobierno que benefician o afectan a los productores del Agro Colombiano, particularmente los productores de uchuva, ademas de temas de restitucion de tierras. Finalmente se presentan alternativas de solucion que pueden ayudar al crecimiento del sector interno y asi mismo el aumento de las exportaciones a Canada.
