Abstract
Desde mediados de los años ochenta hasta ahora, la biología de la conservación se ha escindido en dos campos casi independientes: la gestión y la ecología de la conservación. Hemos asistido a la recuperación de las especies amenazadas de gran tamaño y a la disminución de las pequeñas y comunes. Además, el abandono del mundo rural ha permitido la expansión de las especies forestales y ha perjudicado a las de espacios abiertos, vinculadas a las labores agrícolas tradicionales. Muchas especies de fauna antaño refugiadas inician ahora un proceso de salida del refugio y de pérdida de miedo al ser humano. Y cada vez se ocupan con más éxito los ambientes antropizados. En definitiva, nos dirigimos hacia un mundo reconciliado en cuanto a la relación entre ser humano y fauna salvaje, lo cual será beneficioso, pero también planteará nuevos retos.
