Carollia subrufa es una especie de murcielago que se encuentra distribuida desde Colima en Mexico, hasta el Norte de Costa Rica, (LaVal & Rodriguez, 2002). En El Salvador poco se conoce sobre los aspectos ecologicos de las poblaciones de esta especie. Con el fin de comprender mas acerca de la estructura poblacional y conducta de Carollia subrufa. en nuestro pais, se realizo este estudio dentro de “la cueva del murcielago” ubicada en el Parque Deininger del departamento de La Libertad. La metodologia utilizada para la investigacion fue la captura directa de individuos por medio de redes de niebla y marcaje mediante colorantes artificiales, esto con la finalidad de conocer el tamano de la poblacion y su estructura en edad y sexo, ademas para definir conductas de la poblacion esta se monitoreaba durante 24 horas dentro de la cueva o refugio donde se registraban los patrones de actividad diaria y otras conductas como preferencia de espacio dentro del refugio.
