La educación lingüística debe concebirse como uno de los elementos esenciales en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje. Es fundamental conocer el nivel de competencia (conjunto de conocimientos y destrezas en el uso lingüístico) que poseen los actores de este proceso (profesor-alumno), para crear experiencias de aprendizaje con el objetivo de que los educandos crezcan en cuanto a usos de la lengua, específicamente en la lectura, escritura,escuchar y el hablar.Conocer la competencia lingüística de los alumnos contribuirá a que el docente pueda realizar una planificación del proceso enseñanza-aprendizaje adaptado a sus necesidades; y de esta manera posibilitar su participación entusiasta en los procesos formativos llevadas acabo en el aula.
