Ce projet de recherche se situe à mi-chemin entre celui de l’éducation et de la création 3D. Un sérieux questionnement a émergé en rapport avec le décrochage scolaire, la réorientation scolaire ou encore les problèmes d’insertion professionnelle en lien avec le domaine de la 3D à l’université. Le métier d’artiste 3D est très compétitif et force les étudiants à performer. C’est pourquoi nous portons un bref regard sur les métiers en lien avec la 3D. Nous nous sommes ensuite demandé comment contribuer à réduire les problèmes de décrochage, de réorientation ou d’insertion professionnelle. Nous avons donc décidé d’implanter une communauté d’apprentissage auprès d’étudiants dans ce domaine à partir de sept jalons bien distincts. Une expérimentation a été menée auprès de deux groupes classes en formation 3D à l’Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue. La réalisation de leur projet final s'est faite en communauté d’apprenants. L’objectif principal de la recherche est de connaître les apports et les limites de la communauté d’apprenants pour le développement des compétences professionnelles des étudiants en 3D. Une entrevue de groupe a été menée auprès de 10 étudiants pour la récolte des données. L’analyse des données de la recherche révèle 17 apports et sept limites.
