À partir des années 1980 au Canada, 1990 en France, les policiers sont amenés à déployer des modules pédagogiques en établissements scolaires, sous l’effet du développement continu de programmes de prévention des risques ciblés sur le public juvénile. Cet article s’intéresse à la manière dont ce nouveau mandat policier a été intégré par les organisations policières, sur un plan pratique et symbolique. Il compare les modalités de son appropriation au plan de la sociologie policière dans les deux contextes nationaux. Il fait également le constat que ces interactions à visées éducatives contribuent à diffuser des rapports au droit et à son effectivité différents selon les deux pays. Il s’interroge sur les raisons de cet écart entre les stratégies nationales s’agissant de faire de l’ordre juridique un objet désirable.
