Abstract
Par la méthode des associations libres, cette étude a pour objectif d’explorer les trajets à pied comme temps et objet de socialisation chez 344 collégiens français, au moment du début de leur déplacement sans l’accompagnement des adultes. Les analyses montrent que les collégiens construisent des représentations sur le fonctionnement de l’espace routier, mais aussi sur leur statut dans cet espace, par rapport aux autres catégories d’usagers. Les représentations des trajets positifs et négatifs sont basées sur leur expérience singulière des déplacements, mais aussi sur les recommandations familiales, orientant leur peur des inconnus et du trafic.
