Алгебра симметрий вещественного эллиптического уравнения Лиувилля является бесконечномерной алгеброй с простой алгеброй Ли $o(3,1)$ в качестве максимальной подалгебры. Полная алгебра порождает конформную группу евклидовой плоскости $E_2$. Наличие такой бесконечномерной алгебры отличает эллиптическое уравнение Лиувилля от гиперболического, алгебра симметрий которого представляет собой прямую сумму двух алгебр Вирасоро. С использованием ранее предложенной процедуры дискретизации представлена разностная схема, инвариантная относительно группы $O(3,1)$ и в непрерывном пределе переходящая в эллиптическое уравнение Лиувилля. Дискретная решетка является решением $O(3,1)$-инвариантного уравнения и сама инвариантна относительно некоторой подгруппы группы $O(3,1)$, а именно группы $O(2)$ поворотов евклидовой плоскости.
