Abstract
Residential AC Nano-PV Systems (NPV) are less than 10 kW solar PV systems that can generate, store, control and import or export electrical power from/to the Grid. At the core of these systems are Energy Routers which are hardware/software components that allow control of the system's generators (e.g., solar PV panels), energy storage devices, and loads. In this paper, we review AC NPV design considerations for residential systems, including short-term load prediction for constant power generation, and security issues. Also, we note some of the upcoming technologies of interest in this application such as blockchain.
