Dans le contexte actuel où il existe peu d’études comparatives sur l’élaboration et la mise en oeuvre desplans d’intervention, l’objectif de cet article est de réaliser une analyse comparée pour apporter un nouveléclairage, au niveau canadien, sur les fonctions qu’il remplit selon les dix provinces et les trois territoirescanadiens. Pour ce faire, une analyse de contenu des textes légaux, des politiques et de guides a étéréalisée suite à l’identification de sept fonctions assumées par le plan d’intervention. Au final, lesfonctions assumées par le plan d’intervention sont globalement les mêmes d’un océan à l’autre, sauf en cequi concerne la fonction d’identification. Cette fonction, émergeant avec les transformations induites parl’inclusion scolaire et l’approche non-catégorielle est relativement nouvelle par une centration sur lanature des difficultés rencontrées par l’élève plutôt que sur les causes de celles-ci.
