Abstract
Le paysage est d'actualité. Il est de notre temps d'en parler ou d'en évoquer les qualités et de se poser des questions sur ce qu'il fut, ce qu'il est et sur ce qu'il sera. Le paysage porte en lui toutes les interrogations du temps : le passé, le présent et le devenir. Son existence naît de regards, d'expériences et d'intentions projetées. Ce livre permet de restituer au paysage la nature et la portée de la valeur-temps : dans les enjeux qu'elle soulève, les cadres d'analyse qu'elle requiert ainsi que les gestes qu'elle motive. La perception du paysage comme construit social, l'interrogation sur la ruralité, la question de l'affichage en paysage urbain montrent à quel point les différentes facettes du paysage méritent toute notre attention. Le livre reflète une variété de points de vue : l'architecture de paysage, l'urbanisme et l'architecture, la géographie et la sociologie... Un premier bilan convaincant de la Chaire en paysage et environnement de l'Université de Montréal.
