Abstract
Le 8 septembre 1760, le gouverneur de la Nouvelle-France signe la capitulation de Montreal. L'evenement marque la conquete du Canada par les armes. Les forces francaises sont sommees de se rendre a l'ennemi britannique. Pourtant, deux factions des troupes de la Marine du Canada, l'une de Michillimakinac et l'autre du fort Detroit, feront fi de ces ordres et se replieront en Louisiane, encore sous le controle des Francais. En insistant sur les deux officiers a la tete de ces hommes, Pierre Passerat de La Chapelle et Louis Lienard de Beaujeu, c'est tout un pan oublie de l'histoire de la Conquete qui est raconte, celui d'hommes qui ont refuse d'etre conquis. Joseph Gagne est un historien originaire du Nouvel-Ontario qui etudie au doctorat a l'Universite Laval. Actif au Quebec, en Ontario et aux Etats-Unis, il a un interet particulier pour le Regime francais dans la region des Grands Lacs. Il a fonde et administre le portail Internet Nouvelle-France electronique et le blogue Curieuse Nouvelle-France.
