Abstract
At the Containment and Monitoring Institute’s Field Research Station, various monitoring technologies will be tested to monitor small quantities of injected carbon dioxide. For seismic monitoring, continuous seismic sources will be installed, and used in conjunction with distributed acoustic sensing (DAS) fibre already in place. This paper simulates synthetic data to find optimal offsets between continuous source locations and observation wells and compares VSP data acquired with DAS fibre and geophones at offsets comparable to proposed locations of the continuous sources.
