Abstract
Les Canadian Jewish Archives à Montréal ont conservé plus de mille dossiers de demandes de visa d’orphelins de la Shoah ayant immigré au Canada à la fin des années 1940. À partir de ces dossiers, il est possible de renseigner les trajectoires individuelles des jeunes rescapés et surtout de saisir comment elles ont été retranscrites par l’administration. Cette source donne en effet à voir une écriture administrative singulière de la Shoah où la violence et le traumatisme apparaissent en filigrane. C’est cette mise en récit précoce du génocide que cet article se propose d’analyser. Son étude emprunte à la fois aux questionnements autour de l’usage des dossiers en sciences sociales et aux développements historiographiques récents sur l’enfance après la Shoah.
