Dans cet article, l’auteure effectue une distinction conceptuelle entre l’interdisciplinarité théorique et celle relevant des pratiques artistiques. Il existe en effet deux manières d’envisager l’interdisciplinarité : du côté des savoirs théoriques et de l’épistémologie, et du point de vue des pratiques artistiques. L’interdisciplinarité au sens strict est une confrontation de disciplines constituées, de méthodologies et de théories provenant d’horizons épistémologiques différents. Aussi importe-t-il de différencier cette dernière de la rencontre de plusieurs arts à l’intérieur de la représentation théâtrale ou de la performance, qui relève de l’interartistique. La création interartistique, pour sa part, renvoie plus spécifiquement à des processus de création fondés sur des dialogues complexes entre diverses pratiques qui préservent leur autonomie, ce qui est encore à distinguer du fait que l’art du théâtre fasse appel à différents médiums. La notion d’interartistique cherche à désigner despraxisavant toute chose, lesquelles – c’est une hypothèse – tendraient à s’éloigner du modèle de la mise en scène.
