Abstract
This research employs the conceptual framework of critical geographies of education to examine the implications of market-oriented education finance policy in British Columbia. Using data from interviews with 22 school district administrators, we investigate how these leaders interpreted and enacted (or did not enact) neoliberal education policy that emphasizes an entrepreneurial approach to financing, encouraging them to be innovative and to bring together private resources to fund educational programs.
