Abstract
“La communauté des amants, que ceux-ci veulent ou non, […] a pour fin essentielle la destruction de la société.”1 Voilà une notionbien commune: les amoureux sont ceux qui, égoïstes intraitables, ne cherchent qu’à bâtir des murs de plus en plus épais et s’aliénerdans leur bulle de jouissance mutuelle. Mais que dire de quelqu’un qui cherche non pas le plaisir de l’amour partagé, mais plutôt de se reconnaître humain à travers la relation amoureuse? C’est de cet ordre la quête de Lori, sirène fatiguée d’être un animal libre, et l’apprentissage que l’amour d’Ulysse doit lui procurer. La communauté des amants s’avère alors non pas une séparation avec le monde, mais une manière d’appartenir à l’humanité, de forger des notions telles le don, le partage, la communion.
