Depuis les travaux en sociologie de la littérature de Pierre Bourdieu, un intérêt accru s’observe dans l’étude des littératures marginalisées comme celles de l’Afrique subsaharienne, où les instances institutionnelles ont tout à envier à celles des grandes villes européennes. Pourtant, ces littératures travaillent à leur autonomie, comme en témoignent par exemple les voies tracées par les multiples regroupements d’agents de la littérature. Ainsi, le groupe de La ronde des poètes du Cameroun, audacieux face aux écrivains reconnus et aux institutions européennes, a adopté, depuis vingt ans maintenant, des stratégies lui ayant permis de redonner à la littérature camerounaise une certaine forme de reconnaissance.
