Abstract
A Mídia Ninja, criada em 2013, é um coletivo de comunicadores que produz conteúdo jornalístico cidadão utilizando exclusivamente plataformas online. Refletir sobre o surgimento e a popularização do grupo no contexto da atual fase da profissionalização do jornalismo no Brasil é nosso principal objetivo com a investigação. Para a realização desse estudo de caso, traçamos uma linha histórica sobre o jornalismo profissional no Brasil; tratamos do contexto de surgimento do coletivo e suas características, trazendo aproximações ao termo jornalismo cidadão online; por fim, chegamos à conclusão que a Mídia Ninja, além de ser fruto da realidade digital, nasce, se populariza e desenvolve suas narrativas em um complexo contexto do mercado de trabalho jornalístico, sobre o qual discutimos no decorrer do trabalho.
