Cet article présente des résultats d’une étude qualitative portant sur l’expérience de femmes francophones en situation de pauvreté vivant en milieu rural au Nouveau-Brunswick. Il examine le regard social stigmatisant posé sur ces femmes qui continue à les ostraciser, alors qu’elles déploient de multiples stratégies de survie. Ces stratégies seront analysées en tenant compte de leur organisation du temps à partir des concepts de time poverty et de quarts de travail de manière à déconstruire la stigmatisation dont elles font l’objet. Les constats conduisent à une réflexion sur les contre-discours sur la pauvreté qui confrontent l’autrification.
