Abstract
This paper reports on a case study (Case 1) that is part of a collective case study in an Atlantic Canadian province. The researchers investigated the impact and implications of immigration, demographic changes and increasing diversity on the lives of educators and students in the school. The project was designed using a qualitative case study framework guided by the constructivist/interpretive tradition. Data was collected through surveys, focus groups and interviews with teachers, administrators and refugee students in the first high school. Additional data included documents, field-notes and photographic imagery. This paper will report the key themes that emerged in the inquiry.
