Abstract
Comment faire oeuvre utile en tant que chercheur(e)? Malgré l’institutionnalisation croissante des modalités d’articulation des savoirs (savants, disciplinaires, ou tacites) en recherche, une « épistémologie institutionnelle » structure la recherche académique, suivant laquelle les chercheurs ne doivent pas agir en fonction des propriétés constructives (ou transformatives) des connaissances scientifiques qu’ils ou elles produisent. Cette autonomie de la connaissance scientifique représente à la fois une condition importante d’une recherche non réduite à ses vertus instrumentales et un défi pour les projets de recherche partenariale. En partant du récit d’un chercheur dont la trajectoire intellectuelle et professionnelle éclaire des enjeux fondamentaux de la recherche conjointe, notre article s’intéresse en particulier aux voies de dépassement des tensions (épistémologiques, politiques, etc.) qui mettent à l’épreuve la recherche conjointe, en même temps qu’elles la constituent.
