Abstract
Real-time measurements of clad geometry provide not only valuable information about the melt pool dynamics of laser cladding (laser direct metal fabrication) process, but also an essential control signal for a closed-loop control of the process. In general, the measurement of clad geometry in real-time by vision-based detectors is a challenging task due to relative position of clad melt pool and the detectors and intensive image processing. In this paper, the implementation of trinocular optical CCD-based detectors to laser cladding for measuring clad geometry is discussed. An algorithm, including a fuzzy adaptive threshold strategy, a perspective image projection method, and a simple but realistic strategy for analysing the projected images is developed to extract the clad height and width in real-time.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
