Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Since the environment of a company that manufactures lasers is different than other industrial environments where lasers are simply used, it is often difficult to implement the standard safety measures that are proposed in text books. For example, lasers that are built on a production floor, and that need to be characterized at different stages of fabrication, are not yet classified and often not yet adjusted to their final output power. Also, the production floor needs to be an open space to optimize flow efficiency; therefore the lasers are not characterized and measured in closed labs. These unique conditions where many operators have to work in close proximity increase the risk of laser eye exposure. This paper will demonstrate how StockerYale Inc. is working to overcome these difficulties, by implementing creative safety measures for its employees.

Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
