En este artículo describo mi proceso de investigación y creación de mi obra de dibujo Los Fantasmas. Utilizando esta obra como ejemplo, reflexiono sobre las estrategias pictóricas y las metodología que utilizo como dibujante de fantasmas, centrándome específicamente en la noción de lo existible. Lo existible es una mezcla entre ficción, deseo, archivo y memoria que me permite contar historias posibles pero no forzosamente verdaderas en el sentido de probadas por archivos y evidencias históricas. La finalidad de lo existible es establecer una conexión de empatía entre el espectador y los fantasmas, así como producir una llamada a la acción en el presente. Influenciada por el trabajo crítico e interdisciplinario de Avery F. Gordon, Saidiya Hartman y Marianne Hirsch, mis dibujos plantean el fantasma como figura política: los fantasmas relatan historias silenciadas y visibilizan las estrategias de silencio impuestas por la sociedad dominante. En la serie Los Fantasmas, mis dibujos se centra en las fosas comunes que encierran aún hoy en día los asesinados por el ejército franquista durante la Guerra Civil española y la dictadura (1936-75).
