Abstract
Este artigo apresenta uma analise semiotica do curta-metragem Neighbours, de Norman McLaren, de 1952. A obra, desenvolvida com a tecnica de stop-motion pela National Film Board, do Canada, apresenta um discurso marcadamente antiguerra e antimilitarizacao. Com base no estudo sobre as categorias fenomenologicas de Charles Sanders Peirce, se reflete sobre os fatores envolvidos no filme. Compreende-se que a semiotica oportuniza um balizamento teorico-metodologico para a leitura de imagens. Assim, o texto discorre sobre as triades Peirceanas, com o objetivo de iluminar o processo de construcao de sentido na narrativa visual em analise.
