“A maior das dores”: O luto de mães no espaço público

Abstract
O sofrimento apresenta grande visibilidade na esfera pública contemporânea, especialmente pela emergência de novos espaços de comunicabilidade, como a Internet, e pelo surgimento de uma nova economia moral das emoções. Ele é apreendido na presente pesquisa como uma categoria social, seguindo uma abordagem socioantropológica, que se debruça sobre os sentidos sociais das emoções. O objeto de estudo são mães que perderam filhos e expõem sua dor no espaço público, através da criação de blogs, páginas no Facebook, de livros e da articulação de movimentos, em torno da reivindicação por justiça. Foram realizadas entrevistas, com base em roteiros semiestruturados, com seis mães e um pai, sendo elas conduzidas a partir de um olhar etnográfico. O objetivo geral deste artigo é a compreensão dos modos de comunicação do sofrimento das mães que perderam filhos. Mais especificamente, buscou-se analisar como se constrói o sofrimento no espaço público e quais são as estratégias acionadas pelas mães para lidar com o luto. Os resultados apontaram para a formação de redes de apoio e para a luta política como formas de gestão do sofrimento, de modo a construir as figuras da vítima no espaço público, com base na legitimidade do sofrer.
