Abstract
Grenzflächen spielen in der heterogenen Katalyse eine entscheidende Rolle. Die aktiven Grenzflächen, die für die photoelektrische Reduktion von CO2 entscheidend sind, sind jedoch kaum verstanden. In der Zuschrift auf S. 15641 ff. erläutern J. Gong et al. die Abscheidung metallischer Kupfer-Nanopartikel auf Cu2O-Filmen und untersuchen die Wechselwirkungen zwischen Nanopartikel und Film sowie den Einfluss der Cu/Cu2O-Grenzfläche auf den CO2-Reduktionspfad. Die Cu/Cu2O-Grenzflächen gleichen die Bindungsstärken der H*- und CO*-Zwischenprodukte aus, was eine effiziente Methanol-Produktion ermöglicht.
