On lit souvent qu’à la suite des événements de 1759 et de 1760 les Canadiens se relevèrent avec une identité. On peut inférer que, la France et l’Angleterre étant enterrées sur le champ de bataille, une identité métissée va émerger. Cet événement de la cession du territoire canadien à la Couronne britannique, qui a laissé la ville de Québec en ruines, va être dès lors dénommé la Conquête.
