Abstract
El artículo analiza el papel de los medios de comunicación (cartas, radio, televisión y teléfono) en la novela Volver a casa de Juan José Millás, que trata del tránsito e intercambio de identidades entre dos hermanos gemelos. El lector se ve enfrentado a un seguido de utilización de medios de comunicación que se revelan ser elementos cruciales de intercomunicación en el entramado que se mueve entre ficción y metaficción, así como el proceso de construcción y deconstrucción del personaje central Juan. Los medios de comunicación, todavía analógicos de la última época de la era pre-digital, no sólo tienen la función de hacer posible la comunicación social pero sirven también para encubrir el engaño, infundir miedo y dañar la percepción de la propia identidad. Es ese aspecto problemático de los medios de comunicación en el que se centra el trabajo.
