Abstract
En 2012, une démarche a été amorcée pour doter la région du Saguenay du label international de géoparc, accordé par l’UNESCO. L’objectif premier du géoparc est d'intégrer la préservation d'exemples significatifs de patrimoine géologique au sein d'une stratégie de développement socio-économique et culturel durable, à l'échelle régionale, tout en préservant l’environnement. Afin d’identifier et de détailler les divers atouts et composantes du territoire, une analyse scientifique a été menée par le Laboratoire d’expertise et de recherche en plein air (LERPA) de l’Université du Québec à Chicoutimi (UQAC). Associé à plusieurs experts disciplinaires de l’UQAC, le LERPA a conçu une approche novatrice pour conduire cette analyse. La démarche, qui intègre les concepts d’analyse mul-ticritère, d’analyse systémique de durabilité et d’ingénierie touristique, mobilise différents champs disciplinaires dans une logique interdisciplinaire et systémique. La mise en dialogue des diverses connaissances du territoire permet de mieux cerner l’ensemble des potentialités du territoire à mettre en valeur.
