Abstract
Universidade Federal de Alagoas, insere-se dentre os estudos que buscam, de forma primorosa, contemporaneizar o poder explicativo e de análise do pensamento social marxiano.Nele, empreende-se um esforço que realça a perspectiva de Marx e de Gramsci de ciência, conhecimento e de processos educativos que se efetivam nas relações sociais e em instituições especializadas, vinculadas à superação da sociedade capitalista e à emancipação humana.A obra tem dois objetivos básicos.O primeiro é analisar a relação trabalho e educação sob os fundamentos da teoria do valor trabalho, formulada por Marx, valendo-se, sobretudo, das categorias fetichismo e reificação, para explicar a dialética das relações sociais (infraestrutura) com as formas sociais (superestrutura), no âmbito do processo de produção e apropriação social de conhecimentos.O outro objetivo consiste em demonstrar os limites e possibilidades que o sistema escolar oferece para a construção de uma sociedade emancipada, mostrando os obstáculos éticos e políticos para se efetivar um projeto histórico, apoiando-se na filosofia da práxis de Gramsci.Entretanto, a obra não se esgota nesses objetivos; ela também demonstra porque a atividade pedagógica e intelectual é trabalho humano, tal como Marx e Engels compreendem esta categoria, como "atividade humana sensível".Para dar conta dos objetivos, o autor problematiza como, na modernidade capitalista, o trabalho pedagógico é, simultaneamente, um processo de socialização de conhecimentos e valorização do capital variável,
