À partir d’une enquête qualitative auprès de personnels enseignants du premier degré, cet article interroge les effets de la polémique autour de la ‘théorie-du-genre’ à l’école sur les pratiques enseignantes. Il montre que cette polémique, si elle a pu freiner la mise en place de certaines actions pro-égalité au sein de l’école, a échoué à bousculer les systèmes de pratiques enseignantes, du fait d’une absence généralisée d’adhésion des enseignant·e·s aux messages portés par les mouvements autour de ‘la manif pour tous’. On observe dès lors une certaine distance du corps enseignant, et, par son biais, de l’institution scolaire, vis-à-vis de la construction de la ‘théorie-du-genre’ comme problème social.
