Abstract
Si quelques analyses ont porté sur le vote féminin dans la période plus récente, la période qui va de 1950 à 1976 reste encore en grande partie inexplorée et, par conséquent, on ne connaît pas grand-chose sur le vote des femmes francophones au provincial dans le Québec de l’après-guerre et de la Révolution tranquille. La présente note de recherche offre des pistes d’analyse du vote féminin québécois dans les années 1950 et 1960. En premier lieu, nous cherchons à saisir dans quelle mesure les femmes étaient alors prêtes à assumer le rôle attendu de citoyennes qu’elles avaient déjà commencé à apprivoiser au fédéral depuis 1918. En deuxième lieu, nous tentons d’établir les préférences partisanes des électrices par rapport aux électeurs.
