Abstract
La très ancienne relation entre Saint-Malo et Bordeaux connaît une transformation importante au xvie siècle avec les pêches et reventes de morues de Terre-Neuve auxquels les Malouins initient les Bordelais. C’est à cette même époque que les Malouins progressent depuis les ports français et ibériques de l’Atlantique vers les ports espagnols, français et italiens de la Méditerranée afin de tirer meilleur profit de leurs échanges Nord-Sud. Bordeaux et Marseille deviennent dans ce contexte, des partenaires commerciaux, financiers et logistiques essentiels à leur développement au travers des conflits politico-militaires.
