Abstract
This paper presentation frames internationalization of higher education (IHE) as a form of progressive branding to accentuate both traps and potential openings for strategic interventions. It mines the available literature on the internationalization of higher education, particularly literature focused on ethical approaches and critique, to suggest possible interventions or practices that can steer the internationalization of education towards more productive and ethical outcomes.
