Abstract
Cet article sur l’effet de la globalisation et de la super-diversité sur les pratiques langagières à Montréal et à Bruxelles, porte sur la fabrique sociolinguistique de deux métropoles francophones qui ont en commun une situation de contact linguistique résultant d’un développement historique et de migrations contemporaines. Après un aperçu des changements dans la dynamique du marché linguistique et une présentation des enjeux en matière d’aménagement linguistique, l’article fournit une analyse pour chaque métropole. Les pratiques langagières sont abordées sous trois angles : le répertoire linguistique des locuteurs, la description des usages et l’analyse des attitudes linguistiques et des représentations. Une attention particulière est dévolue à la contribution à la dynamique sociolinguistique locale des locuteurs se rattachant à la diversité culturelle.
