Abstract
Dans la création cinématographique syrienne qui échappe au contrôle du régime, apparaissent trois usages de la référence historique. Tout d’abord, figure la référence au massacre de Hama perpétré par le régime syrien comme pour signifier que l’histoire se répétait et que la réponse des autorités ne diffère pas. Outre cette référence à usage interne, dans la mesure où elle est principalement connue des Syriens, on trouve, notamment dans les courts métrages du collectif de cinéastes Abounaddara ainsi que dans ses interventions médiatiques, la référence à l’Orientalisme ainsi qu’à la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Ces deux références s’insèrent dans une démarche critique visant à remettre en cause la perception du conflit syrien, et sa représentation dans les médias occidentaux principalement.
