Abstract
Accepter l'idée que nous vivons dans un univers polycentrique nous place devant l'obligation de revoir notre conception du monde et de la place que le Canada y occupe. Les auteurs de cet ouvrage ont donc examiné quatre questions de fond que le Canada devrait considérer pour préparer son avenir. Quels sont la position et le rôle de l'État face à une gamme d'acteurs, d'institutions ou de sources d'autorité ? Si un changement politique global et fondamental est effectivement en train de s'opérer, quelles sont les causes de cette transformation ? Comment devons-nous gérer le nombre croissant de problèmes transnationaux et internationaux, qui deviennent de plus en plus prioritaires dans les programmes d'action des gouvernements ? Quelles sont les répercussions d'un monde polycentrique sur la démocratie, l'imputabilité et le gouvernement de droit ?
