Abstract
Notre propos est de comprendre l’exception que constitue, dans « la poésie de la Résistance », la référence au marquis de Sade faite par René Char au fragment 210 de Feuillets d’Hypnos. Si ce nom a pu être un lieu commun pour l’avant-garde littéraire des années 1930, il est en effet banni pendant l’Occupation. Sade est déjà devenu synonyme de la cruauté nazie. Le fragment où ce nom apparaît est particulièrement complexe par le jeu des références historiques (la Révolution), spatiales (Saumanes), par l’entrecroisement des voix, par le dispositif rhétorique choisi (l’usage de la parenthèse). Notre analyse a pour objet, en éclaircissant certaines obscurités, de comprendre comment Char parvient à ne pas céder sur cette fidélité sadienne en produisant un locuteur délivré de toute fausse conscience, de toute mauvaise conscience, un locuteur qui refuse l’imposture de la bonne conscience et de l’idéologie résistantialiste.
