L’obésité infantile est d’actualité et très préoccupante à l’échelle planétaire. En 2013, un enfant québécois sur quatre présentait un surplus de poids. Jusqu’à maintenant, la grande majorité des interventions luttant contre cette épidémie demeure centrée sur la nutrition et l’activité physique. Peu d’interventions éducatives touchent directement les mécanismes psychologiques à l’origine de la suralimentation ou de l’inactivité. Cet article a pour but de présenter l’état de la situation et de proposer une nouvelle approche éducative pour intervenir auprès des enfants souffrant d’embonpoint ou d’obésité.
