Abstract
Par leur configuration singulière, les festivals de musiques actuelles offrent un espace d’observation singulier où l’écoute musicale se trouve prise au travers d’un jeu de sociabilités complexes avec lesquelles elle interagit en permanence. En partant d’une enquête réalisée en 2010 sur les publics des Eurockéennes de Belfort, cet article interroge la place de l’écoute musicale dans l’expérience festivalière, en montrant comment elle se négocie avec d’autres impératifs de la sortie au festival : être ensemble, rencontrer des gens, faire la fête... L’écoute musicale y est abordée à travers deux axes. D’abord, en présentant le faisceau des sociabilités ordinaires qui lui sont associées, la venue à un festival étant rarement solitaire. Ensuite, en montrant comment cohabitent différentes communautés de goûts, et comment la bannière du « rock » offre un espace agrégatif de genres musicaux variés où la situation collective d’écoute instruit un rapport plus attentif à l’altérité.
