Internet a permis aux Amazighs de faire en peu de temps ce qu’ils n’ont pas pu faire pendant plusieurs années : donner une nouvelle forme à leur activisme culturel, faciliter la constitution des liaisons entre les différentes composantes des Amazighs pour former une « identité rêvée » et ouvrir des débats et faire connaître leurs revendications. Facebook a joué un rôle primordial lors des événements déclenchés en Afrique du Nord en 2011. Les auteurs analysent les liens entre les pages d’un compte Facebook (sous le nom d’« Amazigh visualisation ») et qui forment une sorte de « communauté numérique » amazighe. À l’aide de l’application Netvizz, il rassemble un corpus de 2 259 pages qui tissent 14 136 liens entre elles.
