Les auteurs interrrogent les pratiques d’appropriation du téléphone portable et des réseaux sociaux numériques au Niger, au regard des enjeux sociopolitiques qu’elles recouvrent à partir d’observations de terrain et d’une analyse de discours des publications recueillies sur le réseau social Facebook à l’occasion des élections présidentielles de 2016. Ils émettent l’hypothèse que l’équipement récent de la population crée les conditions de la mise en visibilité d’une mobilisation citoyenne inédite dans l’histoire du Niger et d’une nouvelle dynamique médiatique au service du changement social dans les pays en voie de développement.
