Abstract
WstępMalformacje tętniczo-żylne (ang.Arteriovenous Malformation -AVM) należą do rzadkich wrodzonych anomalii naczyniowych -aktywnych hemodynamicznie i o szybkim przepływie naczyniowym (1-3).Objawy kliniczne AVM, pomimo ich wrodzonego charakteru, mogą się pojawiać w późniejszym okresie, utrzymują się przez całe życie, nie ulegają regresji.Malformacje tętniczo-żylne występują w dzieciństwie u 10% pacjentów, zwiększają się wraz z wiekiem dziecka.Wpływ na ich ujawnienie się lub zaostrzenie ich objawów mają m.in.zmiany hormonalne w okresie dojrzewania.Są one spowodowane zaburzeniami dysfunkcyjnymi procesów morfogenezy tkanki naczyniowej w pierwszych 4-6 tygodniach życia płodowego (4, 5).Histologicznie AVM tworzą ograniczone lub rozlane gniazda dysmorficznych tętnic i żył, uformowane w skupiska kanałów naczyniowych z licznymi przetokami naczyniowymi, z ominięciem kapilarnego łożyska naczyniowego.Objawy kliniczne w okołogałkowych AVM są ściśle zależne od okolicy, w której są usytuowane, i od wielkości malformacji.Częste są defekty estetyczne spowodowane zniekształceniem powiek i oczodołu,
