Abstract
Le concept deBaproposé par Nonaka et Konno (1998) vise à expliciter les conditions fondamentales qui président à la conversion des connaissances dans les projets d’innovations. Ce concept souffre encore d’une relative imprécision que cet article cherche à combler. Pour ce faire, nous proposons de faire appel aux travaux de l’Ecole de la proximité. Nous montrons, grâce à l’étude d’un cas d’échec de coopération entre des acteurs français et chinois de la santé, qu’unBainsuffisamment développé fait obstacle à la conversion des connaissances entre les acteurs, obstacle que nous analysons ici comme une absence de proximités. Des enrichissements théoriques sont ensuite proposés, puisqu’apparaît des complémentarités entre les concepts de proximités et deBa.
