Plusieurs études discutent de l'évolution d'Internet et des changements que cela a amenés
\nquant au processus d'achat des consommateurs. Par contre, l'industrie touristique est particulièrement affectée par ces changements. Cette recherche a pour objectif principal de déterminer si les caractéristiques sociodémographiques des individus sont en relation avec leur utilisation des médias sociaux en contexte de voyage. Plusieurs études ont analysé l'importance des réseaux sociaux dans la prise de décision des consommateurs. Une revue de littérature a mené à une liste d'éléments importants, tels que le bouche-à-oreille électronique, les réseaux sociaux, être fan d'une page Facebook ainsi que les différentes variables sociodémographiques des consommateurs touristiques. Dans le but de répondre aux interrogations de cette étude, un questionnaire fut distribué à un échantillon de 3894 répondants québécois à l'aide d'un panel. La sélection de répondants fut menée de façon à se concentrer sur des consommateurs cibles du marché touristique québécois. Les résultats obtenus veulent confirmer l'impact des différences sociodémographiques sur plusieurs facteurs composant la variable de l'utilisation des médias sociaux. Trois des quatre facteurs étudiés, soit le sexe, l'âge et le niveau d'éducation présentent une différence significative sur l'utilisation des médias sociaux en contexte touristique des répondants de cette recherche. Malgré quelques limites de ce mémoire ayant empêché certaines analyses complémentaires, cette recherche oriente les acteurs du marché touristique québécois quant à leur stratégie de
