Abstract
D’une part, nous avons examiné le lien entre le trait de personnalité d’empathie virtuelle et les réponses empathiques suscitées à l’égard de six messages en sécurité routière axés sur la menace et produits tant au Québec qu’en France. D’autre part, nous avons exploré la manière dont les réponses empathiques interviennent dans le traitement de l’information, de même que l’influence du contexte de production sur l’intensité des réponses empathiques et sur le type de pensées générées. L’analyse des données a permis de mettre en exergue l’influence du contexte de production sur la capacité de projection dans le scénario publicitaire, les publicités québécoises ayant engendré les plus fortes réponses empathiques.
